H.R.621 – To direct the Secretary of the Interior to sell certain Federal lands in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming, previously identified as suitable for disposal, and for other purposes.

Stay informed and stay on top of what is happening around us…just a word of advice.  I was called today by a reporter asking my for my opinion on H.R. 621.  My answer was that if there is any risk of losing access to our lands then I oppose it, period.  Being responsible with our resources is crucially important and we’ve lost plenty of access due to the re-designation of certain public lands as “National Monuments” without the piecemeal selling of large quantities of land by the Department of the Interior.

I want to know what qualifies our public land as “disposable” and for “what other purposes” may our lands be sold?  Lastly, what reassurances will we have that this particular bill won’t be used to sell our public lands to the highest bidder in the future? For now, the answer is absolutely no. Please contact our political leadership and voice your concerns!
