THE HUNT

The show’s dedicated and committed hunters are outdoorsmen with decades of experience who understand the trials and tribulations of public hunting and believe in focusing more on the journey than the kill–of course, while igniting their primal instincts and stopping at nothing in the pursuit of big game animals.

An unscripted and authentic big game hunting and outdoor survival show, Beyond Rubicon uses inspiring cinematography to capture free-range, fair-chase hunting that ignites the primal instincts that lives inside every hunter. Filmed along New Mexico’s tree lined and jagged Rocky Mountain range to rolling plans, volcano carved valleys and desolate desert terrains, the state is still the untapped and unchanged Wild West. The state is home to Rocky Mountain Elk, Mule Deer, Whitetail and Coues Deer, bear, cougar, javelina, and more free-range big game animals. New Mexico also boasts free-ranging exotic species within its borders, including Persian Ibex, Barbary Sheep, and Oryx.

Primarily hunting free-range, fair-chase big game on primarily public land, Beyond Rubicon’s skilled archery hunters, Brian Cillessen and Jeff Cillessen, annually participate in the New Mexico Department of Fish & Game big game draw, or tag lottery. Sometimes hunters are competing with hundreds of other outdoorsmen for the chance to draw specific hunting tags. Brian and Jeff eagerly join the ranks in their desire to ignite their passion.

Archery hunters, Brian and Jeff tactically approach each hunt by practicing their bow skills as well as studying the terrain and weather patterns of the area they will be hunting in while taking into consideration the best, high-quality functional hunting equipment and gear to be successful — and safe — in whatever conditions come their way. Their goal is to use the equipment only essential to their success.

“We are hunters first” Brian said. “The odds are only as good as our skill, endurance, and luck–and sometimes that’s not enough when pursuing wild animals.”

The show focuses on the journey — the trials, tribulations, joys, defeats, and primal satisfaction of being a hunter on the quest to keep the hunt in hunting. Beyond Rubicon follows each hunt in its entirety.

Ending each episode in reflection, Brian and Jeff strive to educate Beyond Rubicon’s audience by reviewing the hard lesson’s learned in an effort to sharpen their skills and help others succeed.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
